To some, we’ll always be known those guys with the polar bear. Paul’s Heating and Air Conditioning started in 1962 with a handshake. Paul Schneider purchased the business from Palmer Hanson, who owned and operated Hanson’s Heating out of a little building on George Street starting in 1927. That little building eventually became an icon on the north side of La Crosse. Ask anyone from around there, they’ll remember it as the place with the polar bear. It would also be the start of what has become three generations of delivering on The Paul’s Promise.

Paul’s son Pete and his cousin Mike purchased the business from Paul in 1999.  As word spread of the commitment to customers, growth was inevitable. Paul’s stayed in that iconic building on George Street until the end of 2009. By January of 2010, Paul’s Heating and the polar bear a new home on Oak Forest Drive in Onalaska.

Today, we carry on the tradition of The Paul’s Promise. With 23 employees and a combined experience of over 200 years, we’re proud to be a part of the Coulee Region community. That’s why we give back to those around us with projects like Heat Up Wisconsin, Operation Homefront, and Yes I Will Wisconsin.
